59. Saying goodbye to Spices Hoof Abscess - Day Ten!

Hoorah! Spices hoof abscess definitely seems to be on the mend, as you can see from the poultice above the abscess is still draining but hardly anything has come out over the past 24hrs so it is definitely on it's way out. I wasn't sure whether to apply a wet poultice today or a dry poultice but since she has had a wet for the last three days and there's hardly any muck draining i thought perhaps a dry one would be better. She is also far less lame in fact she's walking fine now so all good signs. I'm hoping that we will only have to dry poultice it for another three days at most and that then we will be able to leave it alone and let nature do the rest. My only hope is that it doesn't come back like it did before...I'm not sure how long it will take for the hole which was made to grow out and for her hoof to be sound in general but hopefully the podiatrist will be able to tell me more on wednesday.
